PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
12 th July,2007 is a memorable day to the people of Jangipara because on that day our Mahavidyalaya was established in the name of great freedom fighter Mr. Mahitosh Nandy who was born in Chandannagar,Hooghly in the year 1918.At first Mahavidyalaya was started in Jangipara D N High school in the morning,session.
Prof.Chandidas Mukherjee,retired Principal,Chapadanga Rabindra Mahavidyalaya took the charge of the Mahavidyalaya. I joined as a Principal on 3rd March '2009.At that time student went to Haripal College (16km) or Jagatballavpur college(14km) or Purashkanpur College(20km)to study the undergraduate courses.A large number of students from Jangipara, Furfura, Atpur, Rahbalhat, Bahirgar, Udaynarayanpur, Dharhatta and many more now come to our college for higher study.Sri Bholanath Chauli donated his land for establishing the college.The then MLA, Mr. Sudarshan Roy Choudhury and MP, Santosree Chatterjee donated 45 lakh each and received 36 lakh grant from Higher Education Dep.
Mr.Tapan Sen,MP donated 40 lakh(for rooms& boundary)Md.Amin,MP donated 30 lakh (for rooms)and also received 5 Lakh (for cross drain&main gate) from Jangipara Jila Parishad.Mr. Snehasish Chakraborty,MLA,Jangipara also President of G B donated 9.5 lakh for the construction of rooms on the 1st floor.We got help from many people in and around Jangipara for the development of our Mahavidyalaya.
We are requiring some more class rooms and one Hall room immediately. Recently we receive 40 lakh from Jangipara Panchayet Samity and 46 lakh from Higher Education for the construction of class rooms on the 2nd floor(works are going on).
We have still some limitations but members of GB,Teaching &non teaching staff,students and also guirdian are trying to overcome the situation.
